THE FAMOUS PICTON HAG PHOTO

It took me a while but I finally tracked down my original copy of this image!
It has amused me over the past 5 years or so as this image has appeared again and again in ghost photo e-mails, websites and other places as being an image showing a real ghost.
Yes it's a pretty spooky image, I know!

Once again I state that this photo was taken by myself (Rowena) at St. Mark's Graveyard, Picton, New South Wales, back in the late 1990's.
The photo shows a trick of photography. I have returned back to the graveyard and taken the same photo over and over again and its very easily done.

What you appear to see is what strongly resembles an apparition of an old woman (old hag) in a graveyard.
The truth behind the photo is that it's actually a gravestone that photographs like this.
The shapes and patterns on the top of the gravestone combine to give it this unusual appearance.
As much as I'd like it to be a spooky ghostly shot, it's not.

So if you see this photo on one of the many websites, or in one of the thousands of "spooky" ghost e-mails going around. Remember what it really is!!
