In my line of work, most of my customers are quite a bit older than me. In the 11 years I have worked, there have been about 6 that have died. There were a few that hung out together that I considered my friends. Kathy, Gladys, and Eve were their names.
Kathy came in one day and as usual I greeted her with a smile and asked how she was. She said, "I feel dead." This kind of spooked me. I just forgot about the comment until 2 hours later when someone said Kathy had gone to the bathroom and not yet come back. Someone went to check on her and found her lying on the floor. She was pronounced dead. She apparently died of heart failure. Kathy was my friend but we weren't that close. So what happened in a few months to follow really frightened me.
I was spending the night at Eve's house when Kathy came to me in my dream. I can still actually see it. She was in a car. She had other passengers in the car with her but I didn't know them. I was feeling a lot of sorrow because I missed Kathy. Then she told me. "You must tell Gladys to prepare. She will be leaving here in 2 weeks. Please tell her so she can be ready." I was so happy to see Kathy that I was crying and told her how much I missed her and loved her. She just smiled. Then I woke. I sat up in the bed. My face was wet from crying. I was STILL crying. The dream felt so real. I shook my head to make sure I was really awake.
It was nine days later when I got the message. Gladys had died in her sleep. I was in shock. Kathy told me Gladys was going to die and I did nothing to help Gladys prepare. She probably would have thought I was crazy anyway. It was a few months later when I told Eve about my dream. I was relieved that she believed me. That's what she said anyway.
I have had other dreams that come to me as some kind of "warning". I can usually tell the difference between a "warning" and a bad dream. I had started dismissing these warnings because it was a gift I didn't want. In the wake of my young nephews death, I am interested in knowing more about my gift.
