I must have been about 11 or 12 years old at the time this incident happened.
My sisters and I along with our cousin went up north to visit our Grandmother for the summer. She is into this really weird religion and they do a lot of unexplainable things. Well, she has a friend ( another member of the CHURCH) who lives directly above her. We were visiting this friend one night and we noticed that she had candles burning in every one of her rooms. She gave my sisters and I the willies. We started up a conversation with her about relatives of ours that had died.
My father died when I was two years old and I don't remember him very well. I told her of a story that my mom told me. The night after he was murdered, he came to my mom in a vision. He told her to take care of me and that he would always love her. When she looked away, he was gone.
She told us that when a person dies let them stay dead. That when some supposed family member "comes back" it is not them. It is an evil spirit and we should not speak to it.
My sisters and our cousin went to sleep that night thinking about what Sister Ruth had told us. At about 1:00 or so in the morning my cousin woke me up to follow her to the bathroom. I said ok and when we returned it did not take me long to fall back to sleep. A short while later, I woke up to my sister saying, "Do you see it? Don't look up Kenya!" I heard a loud breathing sound and we all started screaming. (Just one of my sisters, my cousin, and I, my other sister was sound asleep). We heard a dragging sound and then what sounded like a bird scratching its claws and flapping its wings up the window. I got up the nerve to turn on the light and we just sat up in bed screaming for about 5 minutes or so. When we talked about it all of our experiences were different:
My sister: she heard something come in the front door, give out a loud sigh, and say whew! Then whatever it was walked into our room and stood over me and just looked at me.
Our cousin: just remembers us screaming and the flapping/scratching sound on the window.
My other sister: was sound asleep. she only woke up when I turned the light on.
Me: I think that this was an evil entity brought into the house by all our questions and doubtful minds.
We talk about the event every now and then and my sister (the one who was awake) and I visibly get goose bumps!
