If people see that little iddy biddy link there saying "e-mail me"- THEY WILL - they will send every bit of SPAM they can get their hands on - and people just LOVE to send abuse my way - (who knows why......it's not even ever about my site) and people also think that I like viruses and so post them off to me too!!!!!!!

Therefore we like to make sending all of that junky stuff a little bit difficult!!!

Sorry - we don't keep the e-mail addresses of the story authors. Unless the person has included a contact e-mail address in their story then I'm sorry to say that I cannot supply you with contact details.

Can I borrow your information/graphics/pictures/photos for my project/website?

The photos on the site sometimes have SPECIFIC copyrights on them, all of which are quite obvious and plain to see.......these cannot be copied and you may find yourself under legal action if you do copy them and put them up on the Internet.

It's a safe bet to NOT take anything off my site without asking first ESPECIALLY THE STORIES AND GRAPHICS.........I stress the word "ASK"......not tell.....don't write to me and say "hey I used your graphics or text and I"m just telling you that I used it and I promise to give a link back"........coz that aint askin, thats just plain ol TAKIN!.

The site and graphics are fairly popular and WELL KNOWN, AND FULLY COPYRIGHTED...... YES I DO have the power to terminate a site immediately that has taken ANYTHING off my site without my permission.....BIG BROTHER really is watching.

I am asking you now to PLEASE not copy and steal my stuff and not attempt to set up a site called "Castle of Spirits" or do anything like that (you'd be surprised how many people do it!).......there is a hell of a lot of hard work put into this site and we don't take kindly to things stolen off of us.

I am setting up a ghost story site - how do I get stories? How did you start off?

Well, what I did in the very beginning, many many years ago is I asked around my friends and family for their ghost experiences. Actually ever since I was a little girl I had been hassling them all for stories etc. That pretty much got me started, although, I must admit when I first started out on the Internet, there weren't very many ghost story sites, but now.....well there are MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND TRILLIONS AND BILLIONS of ghost story sites..........so if you would like to start your own site - IT'S GONNA HAVE TO BE GOOD. And also it's not an easy thing to do - It takes a lot of time and dedication to run a good ghost story site.

I would really love to link back to every website that had a link to mine - I appreciate all those who've linked to Castle of Spirits, it's very kind and generous of you - but due to the very very VERY large amount of requests for links I simply can't do them all sorry.......we only have a select group of links up on Castle of Spirits so as we don't offend anyone, so please don't ask us to link back to your page.

1. There could be a number of reasons for this:
-We do not accept stories that have particularly bad spelling or are very badly written which is most probably 70% of stories submitted (I'm very sad to say), it's just far too time consuming to have to go through and correct all the spelling. One of the things that really ticks me off is when people constantly use "i" instead of "I" in capitols...... we may also of thought your story was not appropriate or relevant to the site.
-We cannot publish EVERY story that is submitted to us - so we generally try to pick the best ones and publish them......sometimes we get stories that although are individual experiences - are somewhat repetitive so we may not use them for this reason.

You may not have entered in a correct or valid e-mail address, if so your story would not have arrived here and is probably floating off in cyberspace - either that or some strange person is receiving millions of Castle of Spirits ghost stories out there ?

All stories are reviewed before they are put on-line and your story may not have been accepted due to one of the above reasons. Please check your story carefully when submitting it, make sure you read it through before you send it off.

If your story doesn't appear you are welcome to re-submit it and try again if you like.

2. Although we update regularly we do also have things to do, places to go, people to see. Since stories come in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week we do not spend that amount of time here at the computer updating them. So of course we limit the updates to whenever we get the chance. We do try our best to make sure you get the BEST stories and can regularly read new ones!

3. The Submit Story page gets closed at different intervals due to BACKLOGS or other problems - we always put a note on the SUBMIT STORY page to let you know why it is closed. Although we try our best not to close it off we sometimes absolutely have to.

The most common reason why we close it off is due to a very large BACKLOG of stories...this is usually when it gets to be somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 stories waiting to be reviewed. So naturally we have to stop taking stories so we can catch up on those we have already waiting.

5. No - all stories are published and placed under NEWEST STORIES - you will easily find the link on the font page.

6. No - sorry, if your story is rejected we simply don't have the time to e-mail everyone and notify them. We tried this once but usually people put wrong/fake e-mail addresses in etc. and it ends up just being a waste of time.

How long will it be before my story appears?

Usually we try to keep the stories updated pretty regularly - but sometimes we get such a huge backlog that it takes weeks and weeks to sort through them all (especially around Halloween)......it could take anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks for your story to appear if it is accepted.

The Amityville Horror page that I have seems to attract a lot of abusive e-mail towards me personally. Still to this day I am baffled as to why I should be abused over something that has happened in another country and really has nothing to do with me? .....the evidence that it was a complete hoax is there for anyone who cares to look.

More than likely we have - If you are describing - Wizard of Oz - munchkin suicide, The ghost boy in the movie Three Men and a Baby, The legend of Bloody Mary (bathroom mirror game), Light as a Feather Stiff as a Board (levitation game), Stolen Kidney Story, The Mummy and the Curse of the Titanic story..................and there's more............they are all on my site and we've already seen those stories.

I got this really scary e-mail - it has really scary pictures in it and it say's that if I don't forward it on to 20 people that I'll be cursed, is that true? I'm really worried.......help me!!!

Unfortunately there are some really sick people out there - and I might add there are just as many stupid ADULTS who are old enough to know better than forwarding on these ridiculous e-mails. They eventually get to people who are younger and do not understand Internet Hoaxes etc. and these youngsters get really scared of what will happen.

Of course the answer is NOTHING, nothing will happen to you - just ignore it and you'll be OK. If you believe in karma for starters the person that invented these terrible e-mails will get it back on themselves BIG TIME for writing such horrid things and sending them out into the world. As the saying goes "what you give is what you get in return".........so if you take the responsible choice and just hit DELETE and get rid of the horrid thing then be sure that you are doing the RIGHT THING and protecting others out there, and helping to stop stupid Internet hoaxes. You will most certainly will NOT suffer any of the stupid threats that are in the e-mail.

If you ever get a bulk emailed ANYTHING sent to you asking you to forward it on (and you can usually view the thousands of other suckers that have forwarded it in there somewhere) DO NOT DO IT - no matter what it say's - just delete it - don't even give them your time by bothering to read it, If I see about 200 e-mail addresses up the top of all the other poor people like me who have unwillingly received trash like this, I just hit delete and don't bother with it.......IF THE E-MAIL is asking for something like money (with some really sucky story about a dying kid or someone in desperate need) or promising something ridiculous if you forward it on - like a free phone or a free copy of windows or a free holiday or FREE anything... - THESE ARE ALL HOAX E-MAILS. NEVER EVER EVER forward anything that asks you to, and certainly NEVER be fooled into giving money or your private details over to ANYONE who e-mails you and asks for it, no matter how desperate the story sounds.............THESE E-MAILS ARE A HOAX, there is no dying kid - just some rich bastard scamming money off the millions of suckers out there on the Internet today, or some company collecting e-mail addresses for spamming purposes.
