Castle of Spirits Ghost Story

SOLDIER WATCHING OVER

In 1993, my father died. He was diagnosed with cancer many years before and in the spring of 1993 my family and I knew he wouldn't be with us very much longer. My mom had my Aunt took me into her house for the remainder of my father's time with us. She didn't want me to be subjected to my father while he was in is last states of life. Otherwise, she didn't want me to remember him as he was (my father had been put into a hospital bed in the spare bedroom at the time, unable to walk and soon wasn't able to talk very much either).

My Mom woke one night and looked to her bedroom door. She saw a green hazy mist that carried a certain glow to it. She gazed at the object and made out a world war I or II soldier. She became frightened and quickly put her head under the covers. May 8,1993. My father died around 5:00am , the time my Mom usually got up to give him medicine. He passed away in a peaceful manner. That night, my Mom strangely awoke quickly and looked to her bedroom door. What she saw was the World War I or II soldier once again. He looked at her in a very peaceful way and nodded his head slightly, turned around, and walked down the hallway, disappearing into the dawn's first rays of sunlight shining into the house. My mom has always felt the Soldier was a guardian angel of some sort. She also says he had the characteristics of her father; who had fought in the war and fit the physical characteristics. Her father had passed away in December of 1986.

We may never know who the soldier was, but I am glad that my mother had someone looking over her.
