FOOTSTEPS IN THE KITCHEN I was about 13 or 14 years old when this happened to me. Quite a few years ago, as I am 27, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I was home alone. My Dad was at work and my Mom and Brother had gone to the store. I was reading a book on the couch in the family room. I had my back to the kitchen and all the rest of the rooms in the house. All of a sudden I hear heavy footsteps, like a big man's boots, walking real fast through the kitchen. I turned around real quick, but there was no one there. It really scared me, because I had nightmares before of a guy with an ax chasing me and some friends around the house. (He killed my friends in the dream). I checked around the house and did not find anything. So, I sat back down on the couch, this time facing the kitchen, and tried to get back to reading my book. Needless to say I was really happy when my Mom and Brother came home from the store. I have heard some other things at night in the same house. My brother has also heard them. Sometimes late at night like around 2 or 3 in the morning, we would hear, what sounded like a bunch of people running on the roof. It was pretty loud. My Mom and Dad have heard the noises too. We really don't know what it was. You can use your imagination. We were never really scared by the noise, it happened quite often. One night we had some friends stay over and we stayed up real late talking and the noise came. Our friends were freaked. We told them it always is there late at night. My parents have seen shadows on the walls in the hallway when the hall bathroom light is on. They have seen shadows going into different rooms throughout the house. They have also felt "watched" while lying in bed. Luckily I didn't have that kind of feeling, otherwise I would have been so scared. My parents told me that they have heard footsteps too. I only heard them one time and that was enough for me. My parents said the house was empty when we moved in. I don't know what kind of history the house has/had or when it was built.
