This story of a ghost didn't happen to me personally but
to a young man who works at my restaurant.
My brother and I own a Restaurant/Sports Bar in a small town. The
building is over 100 years old and has quite a history.
In the late 1800's it was an Inn for travellers from far and
wide. The business has been in our family for 40 years.
Our mother passed away 14 years ago and our father 3 years
ago. Over the years many of my staff have said that
they've sometimes felt a presence in certain areas where
there were no customers, or they've seen strange shadows.
I have never personally seen or felt anything myself.
About 3 weeks ago, the young man who works for us went down
into the basement to get some ice from the machine. It's a
very old basement with lots of rooms and low ceilings. You
have to go down a long hallway to the end and into a
separate room to get the ice.
As he was getting ice from the machine he saw a shadow in
the other room. He was thinking that someone had come down
to play a joke on him. He continued getting the ice and
when he looked up he saw my father standing in the doorway
looking at him (the 3rd anniversary of his death is in a
few days). He swears it was my father as clear as day. He
came upstairs and you could feel his heart pounding in his
chest and he was (excuse the pun), as white as a ghost.
Needless to say, no one wants to go into the basement any
more.
