This is an event that happened about a year or two ago.
My aunt had just moved here from Indiana and was looking for a house
to rent and settle down in. After a while of searching she found a
house that was about 4 or 5 miles away from my home. I remember one
night it was late and I was spending the night at her new house. I
remember sleeping in the bed with my aunt, considering it was a one-
bedroom house, when I heard some sort of tapping on the window above
the bed. I did not think much about it considering the window was
close to some trees.
I had fallen asleep for about an hour when I
woke up and had to use the bathroom. So I slowly got out of bed
trying not to wake my aunt. When I got to the bathroom I shut the
door; I was in the bathroom for a while, although I got done with my
business rather fast, I was reading a magazine that my aunt had. I
remember reading an article that was about skin blemishes when I
heard footsteps outside of the bathroom door, I had just figured that
it was either my aunt or my younger cousin having to use the
bathroom. So I said, "hang on I am almost done" and finished the
article that I was reading.
When I got out of the bathroom there was nobody waiting outside the
door. I had figured that my cousin or aunt had just given up and
decided to go back to bed. When I walked into my aunts’ room I
expected her to get out of bed considering I was done but she was
fast asleep, and so was my cousin, who was sleeping on the floor next
to the bed. I didn't think much of it as to it was late at night and
they could have fallen asleep really fast. So I did the same myself.
After a while of sleeping I woke up again, I thought that it was just
because it was my first time in that house and was unfamiliar with
all of the new sounds, that is why I had a hard time staying asleep.
I lay there for a while, closed my eyes and decided to turn over where
I was facing my back towards my aunt, when I opened my eyes again I
saw a figure of something, that I could not make out, right in front
of me. I was so scared and I could not move. After a long while of
staring face to face with this thing my eyes were adjusting to the
light and I could tell that it was a little boy looking at me with his
little, dirty hands gripping my aunts new white sheets. At first I
thought that it was my cousin unable to sleep, just like me, but the
more that I looked at the figure the more I was convinced that it was
not.
I remember I was too scared to move, or even to breathe.
Just when I thought that I couldn't take it any longer the figure of
the little boy started to move closer and closer to my face. Just
when he got about three inches from my face I shot up from my bed and
turned on the lights. My aunt shot out of bed too and asked me what
was wrong, by now the figure of the boy was gone and we were alone in
the room. (One thing that I remember that was rather weird to me was
the boy seemed as if he was dripping wet) I spent the night telling
my aunt the weird things that happened that night and my aunt had
told me that she did not wait at the bathroom door, my cousin claimed
the same thing. Then I told them about the boy at the bed and my aunt
told be about her dream that she had that night, it was about a boy,
the image of the boy in her dream was not clear but she could tell
that he needed help. She was trying her hardest to help him but every
time she tried to get close to the boy he would disappear and
reappear somewhere else.
Then I woke her up and the dream was gone.
After a couple of days living in the house, my aunt claimed that she
could hear footsteps walking around the house late at night when the
house was quiet. We decided to do some research on the place and here
is what we found:
The couple that lived here before my aunt had a younger son, about
the age of the boy that I described to my aunt. One day when the
boys’ mother and father were out doing some shopping the boy decided
to swim in the lake, when he did he drowned.
This must be why the young boy that I saw was dripping wet and that
my aunt had a dream about that boy, and he seemed as if he needed
help.
My aunt since then has moved to an apartment and had never had a
dream about the boy again.
Thank you for reading my story, I hope you liked it.
