I tried to keep all the information in my story as
close to the actual thing as I can remember. Some
of the experiences are my mothers but most are my own.
I’ve always believed in ghosts and the paranormal.
I’d never really experienced any type of activity
until after my uncle passed away.
It all started with a
clock that is in our living room. It sits on top
of a large entertainment system that holds our
television. My parents got it as a wedding present
from my Grandmother and Grandfather. It used to
chime every hour on the half hour but stopped a
long time ago, maybe ten years.
On September 11, 2000 (A year before the terrorist
attacks) the clock started chiming abruptly in the
morning. (My mother was the one who was there when
it chimed) When I came home that afternoon from
school I learned that my uncle was in a car
accident that morning on the drive to work and he
died. The clock chimed a few times again that
night and continued to chime occasionally
throughout the next few years.
The chiming became regular (every hour on the half
hour) in June 2005, after my grandmother passed
away. I always thought that this was her way of
saying goodbye, using her clock. I always thought
that until more strange things started to happen.
So I began to think she wasn’t the only one coming
and going.
During the summer I spend a lot of time on the
computer, which is located in my parents room.
There is a small lamp that sits on the desk next
to the computer table. The lamp cord runs behind
the desk and to the outlets under the computer desk.
One night, I was sitting at the computer with the
lamp turned on. All of the sudden, the light
started flickering on and off. It was a calm
night, no wind. I was kind of freaked and checked
under the table to make sure there that I wasn’t
touching the cord. I was the only one home so no
one else could have been banging around. I stood
up and walked away from the computer and stood in
the doorway on the other side of the room. I
stayed still for a long time but the light
continued to flicker. I had another light on too
but that didn’t flicker at all. I left the room
and the light continued to flicker until I came
back later and shut it off. I didn’t go back into
the room for a while.
We live in a relatively new house; we’re the
second family to live here. Sometimes, when I’m
lying in bed after everyone has gone to sleep, it
sounds like someone is walking around downstairs.
I think its my grandmother or one of the other
visitors I believe we’ve played host too. |
