A Little Ghost?

Hello everyone. My name is Jennifer. I want to tell you of my experience that has me confused. I never really believed in ghosts or spirits until recently. You see, I live in an apartment with my one year old son. He has plenty of toys that make noises when you push their buttons. Well one night about two months ago I was laying in bed when I heard my son's toy going off. I just ignored it thinking that I was hearing things. Then it went off again a few minutes later by itself. After the third time I went into the living room where it was sitting in the center of the room. I wrapped it up in a blanket and placed it in the corner of the room so I wouldn't hear it anymore.

About two weeks later it happened again, except it was a different toy making noises. After hearing it go off for the third time I got up, took the toy that was laying in the center of the room, also wrapped it up in a blanket and put it in the corner.

This really freaked me out, but I tried to forget about it, until I started hearing a baby coughing in the middle of the night.

I woke up one night after going out with the girls, to a baby coughing. I had a few drinks that night so I just thought I was hearing things. My son was with my mom that night, so I know that it wasn't my son coughing. But something made me get up a look around because it seemed so real. I didn't see anything so I went back to bed.

The next week I woke up to the exact same cough that I heard before. My son was home with me that night, but he was sleeping in the bed with me. This really scared me to death. I knew I heard it coming from outside the room. So I got up and looked around, but didn't see anything.

I am confused about the whole ordeal and don't know what to think. I asked the apartment manager if I had kids living above or around me, but she said that no kids are living in my building at the moment. The real weird thing is I see my son acting like he is talking and playing with someone sometimes. Maybe he has an imaginary friend but at 1 and a half years old I don't think that you have them that young.

I want to ask if a small child that lived here, had passed away, but I don't want anyone to think I am weird or anything. So I am just going to accept it, or at least until my lease runs out. Thanks for your time.
