Been In To See The Baby

My mother always told this story and swore it was the God's honest truth.

When she was pregnant with her first child (my sister), the whole family was very excited because this was to be the first grandchild on my mom's side of the family.

My mom's favorite Aunt, Aunt Sue, was very involved and thrilled with my mom's pregnancy especially, since my Mom was her favorite niece. Unfortunately, Aunt Sue died a couple of months before the baby was born. My mom was naturally very upset.

A few months after my sister was born, my mom awoke to find Aunt Sue standing at the foot of her bed, looking exactly as she did in life, same gestures, posture, etc. She smiled at my mom, and said: "I've been in to see the baby, and she's beautiful!" My mom said that the apparition then "winked out". She said that she hadn't been frightened at all, it was just Aunt Sue!
