Employment Interview

Terrio Echavez, California, USA
April 2000

Iam a resident from Hayward, California. In 1994 the company I was working as a computer operator for (in Union City, California) downsized and I had to look for another job. The home office of the downsized office is in Topeka, Kansas, and they had one job opening for a grave-yard shift computer operator in their corporate office. I managed to get a interview in Topeka, Kansas (air fare and food and lodging paid) and spent the night before the interview in Topeka, Kansas, at an old but eloquent motel. I ate a good dinner at the motel and prepared for my interview as much as I could before I went to bed. At around 3:00 in the morning I woke up and found a shadow of a woman laying next to me to the right of me. To tell the truth I was somewhat startled and scared at the same time and I simply sat up in a cross legged meditative position and tried to clear my thoughts of fear and think of just good thoughts. Eventually I smelled a rich and sweet aroma of flowers and looked over the right side of the bed and saw that the shadowy woman was no longer there. I managed to go back to sleep and woke up early that morning to go to the interview.

I did well on two round-table interviews and was offered the job which I accepted. I worked in Topeka, Kansas as a grave-yard computer operator for three years before returning to Northern California. Since coming back home, I have done some research on ghosts in Kansas and found that there is a famous woman ghost around that appears at night around the area where the old but eloquent motel where I stayed is. Sometimes I wonder if that woman ghost is the same shadowy woman I found next to me that night I was sleeping in that motel.
