Friendly Old Lady

I am 44 years old and have for many years had some interesting experiences with the spirit world.

My first experience happened when I lived in a very old house which I owned and was renovating. The front door lead out onto a small verandah which then went straight out onto the street, there was a picket fence with a gate between, so I didn't use it at all and it was permanently locked, this was a very old style lock very noisy when you twisted the key.

One night I was woken from a deep sleep by the front door being unlocked, the key was left on the inside of the door all the time. As the house had shifted with age when you did open the door you had to give it a good push and it would skid along the carpet, I heard this noise and froze. I heard the door open and I could hear someone walking on the carpet through the front room. There was a little step into my kitchen. My bedroom was just off the kitchen, right next to this step. My cat was sleeping on the bed and began hissing and growling, I still had my eyes firmly shut and was terrified. Next I felt the weight of someone leaning over on the bed with their hands resting on top, and I could feel someone looking at me, my cat was still hissing etc, then what ever it was turned and walked out of my room as I could distinctly hear the sound of someone walking on carpet, they then went into the kitchen and proceeded to go out the back door. I was so scared, I wasn't able to open my eyes and actually look, but could hear all of this. I didn't fall back to sleep for ages, but when I woke in the morning I went straight to the front door. It was locked.

I had a person come to the house once, he was a very spiritual person and he said to me that there is an old lady here who protects you, don't be frightened of her. This was eerie as I had never told him this story, he just said it to me whilst having a cup of coffee.

Years later I moved to Perth to live. I was invited to a good friends birthday party and it was a sit down dinner at a local hotel. There was a young lady sitting across the table from me who I had never met before, but she kept looking at me all night, so much so I thought that she was trying to pick me up! We chatted about all sorts of things, (nothing spiritual or ghostly) with others seated at the table, it was an enjoyable evening.

The next morning though my friend whose party it was rang very early and said that this lady sitting across the table wanted me to call her. My friend told me this lady was a tarot card reader and very spiritual. I couldn't get off the phone fast enough to call her and see what she had to say. She told me that she had seen an old lady standing beside me all night and she was trying to get this girls attention as she wanted her to tell me "to write my book". I have had a desire to write a children's book for many years, still haven't done it though and I never speak about it either. This old lady had long grey hair and a friendly face and said that she was looking after me.

I bought a small apartment whilst I was in Fremantle and lived there for years. She came one night and sat on the bed as I was sleeping. I was too scared to open my eyes and look, but could feel the weight on the bed and my cat was not happy. Different things happened on and off. I have since married, moved back to Victoria and have a three year old girl.

One night way after her bed time I heard her talking, so I listened at the door and she was talking about a story I had read her earlier. I went into her room and she was sitting on the side of bed, in the dark holding the book as if reading to someone and looking at something! I couldn't see anything. I am wondering if my old lady friend is still protecting me.
