Sensitive To Spirits

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been very sensitive to certain things. I could walk into a strange house that I have never been in, and tell you if something terrible happened there.
When I was about 8, my parents were looking for a house. They found what seemed to be a perfect one. A little cape cod that they were going to make the whole upstairs a huge bedroom for my older sister and me. Before they decided to close the deal, they brought us kids in to see what we thought.
I had a very strange feeling as soon as I walked in the front door. We walked through most of the house, but once we got into the kitchen, I totally freaked out. Something definitely did not feel right. I turned and looked at my mother, and said, "something happened in this house, I can never live here." At that point I left and went to sit in the car.
After some questions to the real estate lady, my parents found out that the previously owner of the house killed himself in the kitchen. Needless to say they did not buy the house.
The house they did buy did not bother me. It had a very playful spirit in the house. Not much happened in the years I lived there. It would let me know every once in a while it was there.
The way the house is set up, you walk in the front door and immediately to your right is an old radiator heater with metal shield over it. My mom had some pictures and a stand that was tiered with ceramic owls on it. To your right beyond that is the door to the living room. Straight down the hall is the kitchen, and at the end of the kitchen against the far wall is the refrigerator and to the right is a door to the dining room and from the dining room is opened to the living room. Like a big circle. (Sorry but its kinda relevant).
I was sitting watching TV one afternoon and I heard what sounded to me like a magnet fall off the fridge. I just thought, maybe there was too much under it and wasn't holding. So I got up to pick it up, but I couldn't find it. So I didn't think anything and went to go up stairs. What I found in the hall was the magnet. Now there is no way that it could have fallen off the fridge and landed where it was.
Another time I was home alone and was watching TV. It was pretty late, about midnight. When all of a sudden I heard this HUGE crash from the hall. It sounded like one of the ceramic owls had fallen off the stand and crashed on the metal radiator cover. A very loud sound and one that could never be imagined. I got up to pick up the mess, but when I got there, nothing was out of place.
The last thing I have to tell you about happened about a year and a 1/2 ago. My husband and I inherited his grandmothers house. Its about 115 years old. Definitely has spirits in here. All I feel is watched and protected. Maybe because it's been family that has lived and died here? My husband has a very scientific mind, and doesn't believe in all this stuff, so I need some opinions. Here goes:
I was getting ready for bed one night and was brushing my teeth. I just got done rinsing and when I looked in the mirror, I saw my husband standing there smiling. Ok what appeared to be my husband. I started talking to him, and went to turn around, and no-one was there. So I walked into the bedroom looking for him, and he walks in from the living room asking who I was talking to. It freaked me out at first, but the only thing my mind has come up with, was that one of the spirits here was making itself known to me in the image of my husband so that I would not be frightened.
