Halloween Happenings

My birthday is on Halloween, and I have strange experiences from about a week before to about a week after Halloween, and although Halloween is over, I wanted to collect my experiences to share. There not very exciting, but funny sometimes.
I believe that I have always had a connection to the spirit world, but it seems a little stronger around my birthday. I have only recently noticed this pattern this year (I'll have to be more observant) but here's one that happened a few years ago that sticks out in my mind.
It was Halloween day, and my parents were setting up for my 12th Halloween/birthday party for that afternoon. I decided to walk up to the corner store. Just as I approached my house, a small white dog was growling at me from the house next to mine. I had to go in front of the dog to get home. It was tiny, but looked and sounded mighty ferocious. I slowly walked in front of it, and, keeping my eyes on it, went into my house.
I didn't know anyone in my neighborhood with a dog like that, so I thought it was a lost or stray dog. I forgot all about it, until the next Halloween. I was returning from a nearby pharmacy on my birthday, and saw the same dog AGAIN! It was so weird, and I never saw it again.
This year's bizarre happenings started on a Friday afternoon. I had just gotten back to work after finishing lunch, and the phone rang. It was a man named Jerry, on his cell phone, insisting I had called him and left a message on his voicemail, and that it was my voice. I thought it was another Jerry that I worked with, and it wasn't. He kept asking me questions about myself, and I thought it was just some creep. He called back again, and I asked him what his job was, and he said he was a private investigator. Yeah, right. I thought he just had the wrong number and wouldn't take no for an answer.
Sunday morning. My husband and I had just said the night before that we'd like to wait until Thanksgiving to turn our heat on. It was a chilly night, so we just used an extra blanket.
I woke up the next day, and went into the living room. Our apartment has a big old-fashioned heater in there for our heat source. It smelled like it was burning, which happens after you turn the heat on for the first time after the summer. I looked, and the dial was turned to 3. When my husband got up, I teased him about turning the heat on. He insisted he hadn't, and asked me if I did. I thought he had woken up, and half-asleep, had turned it on. I told him this and he was adamant that he hadn't turned it on. Oh well.
Monday morning, the infamous Jerry called bright and early. After the phone rang, and I answered it, a man asked what town I worked for. He caught me off guard with such a quick question and my lack of coffee, and being a town worker I told him, and he said goodbye. After he said bye, I realized who it was, and freaked out a little. Haven't heard from him since.
I told my husband about it, and he got a little creeped out, thinking I was being stalked, and, without thinking, I said, "Weird things happen to me all the time this time of year." I thought about it, and realized that it does seem that way?
I don't remember much else that happened over the week (again, call me unobservant) but this morning I went to go to work, and my birthday was a week ago today. I was just wondering if the weird stuff was over. I went to my car parked in the street, and there was a note on my car. It was crumpled up and in black capital letters, "Please do not park in this driveway again. Thanks." Considering I was in the street, I got a little mad at first. I've parked there before a hundred times. My grandmother a friend of these folks, too. So, I either got somebody mad, or it's just my prankster Halloween buddies saying bye.
I'll find out tonight about that note, but I thought I'd include it because I don't think it was my neighbors, but my little friends, who will be back, and will hopefully offer you all a better story next year.
