My Unseen Bedfellow

Ihave visited plenty of "paranormal" websites in the past year. Mostly looking for someone else's experience that resembles my own. I feel I must first, however, give everyone a quick history of myself.

I have always believed that there is another realm of existence other than the one that is tangible and visible to us. Some of my friends and family even call me "psychic". I, on the other hand, don't care much about that...The thing I am most interested in is finding out whether or not spirits or ghosts or entities or whatever can follow a person. I am 25 years old, married and have 2 children so I believe myself to be a very reasonable and down to earth (pardon the pun) person. Although, from the time I was old enough to have memories, I have been aware of what I believe to be spirits.

The first experience that terrified me happened with my sister as a witness. This is, however , not the experience I am about to relate. The story I would like to tell occurred just last year, in a home that my husband I bought in 1996.

This was our very first home. It was built in 1978 and therefore not that old. We had lived there for quite awhile when I had our son. Soon after, I began to notice odd things. Of course it was the usual....things being misplaced, weird noises that couldn't be explained, phone ringing at odd hours, etc. I was able to overlook all of this (being used to it from living in previous homes). The first time I actually felt threatened in this house was when I was walking into the kitchen. There was a plastic bowl on the counter that had been sitting there all day....well as I walked by, it promptly flew off the counter and landed at the living room doorway 4 feet away. I tried to explain that away as a draft or something but come on people, we all know that it takes more than a breeze to make an object fly THAT far!

So it continued....all these weird things progressively getting more bold...water faucets at the sinks starting to turn themselves on, TV turning on and off and switching channels faster than the actual satellite dish can do (those of you who have one u know what I mean)......Well the worst thing that ever happened to me absolutely scared the crap out of me!

I had just gone to bed and my husband was in the living room so I knew I was alone. We had a waterbed and I had been lying in it for at least 10 minutes. Well my bedroom became absolutely frigid (this room was always cold even in the summer) then all of a sudden, I felt this pressure on the foot of the bed. If you have a waterbed you know that the moment anyone gets on it, it makes waves, right? Well first the waves came.....then I felt something straddle my legs (I was laying on my back) and it worked its way up my body, slowly making the blanket tighten around my silhouette. I just knew it wasn't my husband because there was enough light in the room to see and the only thing I could see was the indentions of the blankets where the "thing" was...Then I felt HOT breath on my cheek and felt a hand run through my hair!!!Needless to say I was ready to get out of there...only I couldn't move (figures, right?) Well I start praying like nobody's business and was finally able to sit up...I jumped out of that bed and was hell bent for leather for the living room where my husband was. He took one look at my face and just shook his head. I made him get my pillows for me and subsequently slept on the couch from there on out.

Well it wasn't too long after I had convinced him to sell the house that he was sleeping in there alone (remember I am still on the couch ), when he comes running in there saying "something got in bed with me!" I just told him to sleep on the couch with me and don't worry about it. He finally admitted to believing me about the ghost in the house.

We sold the house a month later and moved. The thing I don't understand is why it took living there for 2 years for anything to happen? Some say it is because we had discussed moving, therefore upsetting the entity...But I am more worried about the fact that every time I move, there seems to be a "ghost" in my home..and it seems to get worse the older I get. So far we have lived here for a month and everything seems fine...but I have to wonder....Has this ever happened to anyone else???
