Paw Paw

October 2006

Hi, I'm Christine, I'm 12 years old. My first story is from when I was between 2 and 3. I only know about it because my mom told me the story when I was about 6 or 7.

I was watching T.V. in my mom's room with her lying right beside me. The only light in the room was a small lamp behind us and the glow from the T.V. I turned to my mom and asked her, "Who are those people?" She, of course, thought I was talking about the people on T.V. I told her, "No! The people at the end of the bed!"

After looking around the room and seeing no one, trying to stay calm, she asked in a shaking voice, "Well Baby, who do you see?"

I told her, "Paw-paw is standing there at the end of the bed, with some other people." My grandfather had died four months earlier.

She sat up slowly, peering at the edge of the bed and said, "Tell me who you see standing with Paw- paw."

I described an older man, who I now know was my great-grandfather, a man I had never seen before, not even in pictures. I still have not, to this day, seen a picture of. I also told her that there were others standing behind them, including one that I recognized as my aunt. My mom told me that Paw-paw brought his dad and other relatives to see me since they had died many years before I was born.

I haven't seen any of them since that night and wished many times that they would come again.
On another occasion I saw a blinking light at the top of our bookcase dancing in a pattern of left, right, middle, left, right, middle.

My mom also saw it but dismissed it as the moonlight shining through the tree branches, swaying in the night air. To prove this, she waved her hand in front of the window and was surprised to see that it had no effect on the "light." I also saw the light a few nights later. I woke up one morning to see it still dancing on top of the bookshelf. I turned on the overhead light to see what would happen. I regret doing that because the light has not appeared again.

These are my only two stories. I wish I had more to share.
