Seaside Cemetery

Some years ago I visited a cemetery in my town that I thought a very beautiful place. It is very well kept and has a beautiful mausoleum all built in marble. This cemetery is on a cliff overlooking the ocean, so it was a place for me to go for peace.

One late morning I was walking around looking at the various headstones and monuments, feeling kinda guilty that all of my family was buried in a little cemetery across town and that I should be there paying my respects instead, so I decided to go to the little cemetery across town and visit my grandmothers grave of whom I lived with when I was small.

On my way out I noticed in the distance a spray of lavender flowers that looked like lilacs on a grave, I kinda thought as I neared the grave that the person would not mind if I took a sprig for my grandmother as Lilacs were her very favorite flower. I was sure they wouldn't mind sharing a small sprig. As I got up to the grave and looked down, to my horror the name on the gravestone was my own! None of the birth or other information matched just the name. Well needless to say I never took the Lilacs, I high tailed it out of there as fast as I could and never went back.

Guess I learned my lesson...not to take things that don't belong to you.
