Shadowy Figure (2)

The house that I live in with my parents I have lived in for 15 years. It has no particular history, just a generic house built in the late 70's in Brisbane Suburbia. To my knowledge no one has ever died in the house, or on the land that the house was built on, as it used to be a flower farm (not very frightening). However, I started to notice a presence when I was about 17 or so.

When I finished high school, I decided to take a year off before going to university and therefore was at home during the day a lot more. I started to notice that around 3-4 in the afternoon there was someone walking down our drive way. Now we have dogs, and the kind of dogs that don't let people in through the gate. So often I would wonder who was walking down our driveway. I'd usually see this person out of the corner of my eye but when I looked they were gone. On more than one occasion I thought that my mother had come home from work early and went out to meet her, finding there was no one there.

I decided that this must be a trick of the light and went on with my life. Towards summer it got more frequent, and always at the same time of day. One night I was talking to my Mum about these things and she said that she had seen exactly the same thing, but didn't want to tell me because she thought I wouldn't believe her. She confirmed everything, even the time of day that she was seeing the figure. And that she would sometimes think that it was me or my Grandfather coming to visit.

Neither of us worried about it, it wasn't a threatening experience. We just saw a figure in our driveway. On one occasion we had the whole family over for a barbecue and we were sitting in the living room waiting for my boyfriend to show up. Neither me nor my mother had told anyone else about the figure on the driveway, and both of us noticed it at the same time. We turned, thinking that my boyfriend had got home, only to find that no one was there. One of my aunts (who is incredibly skeptical) turned her head as well, also thinking someone had just walked into our yard.

Since then this figure has been seen in our kitchen and in the hallway. Always just lingering in the shadows. Both me and my mother seem to think that it is a man, but we haven't ever been able to get a better view. We don't know who he is or where they came from, but seeing as we have never had any harm come of us, we've never really worried about our shadowy figure.
