Spooky Summer Ranch

One summer my Mom, sister and I decided to go to my uncle's ranch for our vacation.
Everything was normal for being in a ranch in the middle of the woods, the three of us alone most of the time.
My mother was always scared that something could happen to us because the house was on a private road away from all reality, as she put it. She sure was right. That vacation something did happen.

I remember one day I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and I always left the bathroom door open just in case someone had to go in while I was there. Suddenly I felt like someone was staring at me. I looked toward the door to find absolutely nothing, even though a childs voice said to me "MOM?" "MOMMY!". I looked at myself in the mirror and told myself that I was hearing things, I turned the light off and went to bed.
The room I was in was big and had two doors that led to the same hallway. Every morning after the bathroom incident, I would wake up and catch a glimpse of two small heads in one of my doorways and they suddenly ran off toward the other doorway and when I'd look nothing ever went by.
One day we were sitting in the living room and my mother suddenly said "weird things are happening in this house". My sister and I looked at our mother with puzzled expressions and we asked why she said that and she answered "I have been hearing things lately and just right now I am feeling and hearing something behind my chair". She told us to be quiet for a minute and listen. In that moment we moved closer to my mother's chair and heard the sound of children whispering and giggling.
Nothing bad ever happened to us although we kept hearing the children even more. When we mentioned this to our uncle he said that the girl he bought the house from had inherited it from her grandmother and she lived there with her two children which my uncle said were still alive.
We never found out what really happened in that house but we were later told that the girl's grandmother died there by herself and was found days after her death.
Still today we visit just for a while and we still feel and hear these children laughing, running and talking!
