The Drowning Child

This occurrence happened on August 26,1999 while walking home along a dirt path path from a relative's house.

This happened in the evening around 7:30 pm. The village is a very peaceful place. Surrounded by hills, mango, banana trees and many exotic vegetation. I was with my cousin and we were coming home from a relative's house. We took the usual path that we always took which was a dirt path slicing through the woods.

We were never scared of the woods during the day but as nighttime starts to cloud over, we wanted to hurry up and get the hell out of there.

As we were walking and talking at the same time just to keep our minds off of strange things we heard the usual nature sounds in the woods. Insects, and other weird animals noises. We paid no attention to that at all. To get to the point. As we were nearing the end of the wood we could see a small pond like body of water. It was weird because we never saw that before so we thought it had probably rained hard while we were at the house. But everything else was dry as a bone. As we got closer we saw a little boy crouching over the rim of the water, about the age of 5. As he heard us coming he turned around and glanced at us and he looked normal to us. Then all of a sudden he fell head first into the water. Our first reaction was to run and help him because he was totally submerged. When got to the water and my cousin threw his hand into the water thinking he could feel the child and pull him out... But to his surprise the water wasn't even a foot deep! The muddy water made it hard to distinguish the depth of water. Once my cousin realised that we had happened upon a ghostly apparition he was calm because he had had experiences with ghosts before.

We just continued on home and talked about ghost stories on the way home.

Sorry I'm not a very good writer but this actually happened to us. It scared the hell out of me but not my cousin.
