The Intruder

I can't say I ever believed in supernatural beings until my few experiences with them. I am 27 years old now and about 15 years ago I had a couple experiences that may not sound like much, but is truely freaky if you think about it.

When I was about 13, I was home alone with my younger sister and brother when we heard the ice cream truck. Of course, my brother asked for some, and I gave way. When we returned, the front door was locked (which I didn't have the key to lock or UNLOCK it). I panicked. My parents wouldn't be home for another few hours and they didn't have a phone near them that I could call. I left my siblings there (just to make sure that nobody could escape) and ran to the back door, and that was locked, too. I checked all the windows and the doors but they were sealed. I sprinted back to the front door, afraid of an intruder, turned the knob. The door was unlocked. My brother and sister said that they saw NOTHING leave the house. I searched the house all day but nobody was there. No signs of burglary, nothing. I looked at the other doors and windows later that day, and they all remained locked. Nobody could have exited the house, in other words.

My other experience was about a year later when I was a freshman. I was a "latchhook" kid, so I came home to an empty house from school. One night when I got home, I noticed everything in my house was open. I mean like, cupboards and refrigerators, even dressers. It freaked me out because I was the only one in my family who had a key to our house, in fact, the only person in the WORLD who had that key, so nobody could have locked the door behind them. I also am the last person to leave my house in the morning, so how could anybody just get inside without unlocking the door and locking it back up?

These experiences bother me to this day and even though I haven't seen that house for almost 8 years now, I still get freaked...

Thank you for reading!
