The Old Hotel in St. Anne's

This happened to me when I was 16 years old, I am now 28. I'll never forget.

A group of us from school left town at about 9:00 p.m. The hotel was approximately 20km away, in a small town called "St. Ann's." There were seven of us - four boys and us three girls. The only mode of transportation we had was our legs. We started walking but ended up hitchhiking. We arrived at the hotel around 11:30 p.m. and immediately cracked open the beer.

A friend of ours (Jamie) had rented the main room of an old hotel that had been boarded up for quite some time. When you entered there was the living room to the left and the kitchen to the right. Off of the living room was his bedroom and off of the kitchen was the bathroom. Not very big, however, the hotel was enormous and had lots of room and passages (being it was so old) but this area was off limits to our friend, Jamie.

We were sitting in the living room when Jamie started telling us about his experiences in the hotel. Although he wasn't ALLOWED in other parts of the house there was nothing stopping us from actually exploring.

Most of the rooms were empty with little debris. There were two cats that Jamie was aware of that lived in all the rooms so most of the little creaks and groans we blamed on the cats. One of the rooms had what seemed to be tiny boxes shaped like coffins (I saw with my own eyes). But we didn't know what they would have been used for. One of the guys opened one of the boxes and found tools in one of them i.e. hammer, nails, another one consisted of clothes. We were confused at first then just decided it must have belonged to the family who ran the hotel.

Two of the bedrooms still had furniture in them and when commented on, Jamie dared us to stay the night. Well I'm not a prissy girl but I do believe in following the rules. But then on the other hand who would have known any different that we were staying the night in the old hotel. So out of the seven of us four decided to stay.

We heard noises throughout the hotel, coming from other rooms and seeing shadows on the walls, but when you turned around nothing was there. You could feel the presence but not see anything. We then returned back to Jamie's living room. Then everything got very quiet. A cool breeze started to come across the room and we all just looked at each other. None of the windows had been opened. Then our friend, Wade, who had remained sitting on the couch the whole time we explored, bolted upright and started speaking in a different language. Unrecognisable. His eyes rolled into the back of his head and his body started shaking. At first we were all laughing at him thinking he was acting but soon realised this was serious. He started speaking English and was uttering warnings, telling us "to get out his house, leave now and you won't be harmed." This lasted about 3 to 4 minutes but seemed like forever. When it was over Wade didn't remember any of it and he was all sweaty and wet. It was like Wade wasn't there for those few minutes.

Nobody wanted to get to close to Wade after that.

We finally calmed down and tried to get some sleep which a couple of them did but myself didn't get one ounce of sleep all night long.

A couple of days later, Jamie brought this book to school. It was a book on the old hotel. It was built in the mid 1800's and had pictures in it and the hotel, when it was in its prime, was beautiful. The family who ran the hotel had been murdered by the husband (father) for whatever reason and then proceeded to hang himself in the barn out back. Obviously, the old man did not want us on his property.

A couple of us went back to check out the barn (to see if there were any marks of any kind) and it was a little creepy, even in daylight. I've never been back there since but I have driven past it and always tend to slow down when I pass the house, remembering that night and the way Wade had been taken over.

Recently, another family has moved into the old place, remodeled, painted, cut the grass etc. I'm just wondering if they are having any interesting experiences.

This has been my only experience with an entity, probably because I have closed my mind to the other side. Although I am very intrigued with all of the paranormal findings and sightings and the stories I read on Castle of Spirits I hope I do not encounter another experience. I will see the other side soon enough. Thanks for taking the time to read my experience.
