The Shadow (3)

I have a cousin (who we'll call Amanda) who I'm very close with. We saw each other all the time. She moved a few hours away and we weren't able to see each other as much.

When I was about 16, we were invited up to their house. It was this big five bedroom house. It was lovely. We were taking a tour of the house but we only saw four bedrooms. We came across a door. It had three dead-bolts on the door. My mom asked my Aunt if that was "the room" ?. I had no idea what they were talking about.

I forgot after a few days about that room completely until the night my Aunt, Uncle and parents went out. I was walking in the hallway and saw the room. I asked my cousin and she told me there was a ghost in there. I, of course, was skeptical. She told me she'd show me if I really wanted to see. I said yes.

We walked to her parents room and she opened a small chest that held 3 keys. As we were walking to this room I realized she wasn't kidding at all and I began to get scared. She put each key in the lock and turned it. She opened the door. Nothing. "Are you ready?" she asked me. I nodded. The only thing in the room was a single light bulb hanging from the ceiling. She flipped it on and there was a shadow of a little girl hanging from the ceiling fan as it turned slowly. I have never been so scared in my life.
Amanda turned off the light and locked the door. All three locks.

I love my cousin very much but I never wanted to leave somewhere so badly ever. I know it really doesn't sound like much but to be there and see that is horrifying.

I'm 22 now. I haven't used a ceiling fan in six years.
