They Let Me Know They Were There

Hi, my name is Tami and I live in a small area outside of Wilkes-Barre, I had two experiences in my earlier years.

The first one was when I was 11. My brother "Shawn" and I had to go and pick up money from my aunt for my grandmother. My aunt lived right over the hill about 1/4 of a mile from my gram, it was a warm spring day so Shawn and I decided to walk. When we got to my aunts' house, we knocked on the front door. Nobody answered, so we figured since our aunt was older we would go around to the back door thinking maybe she didn't hear us knocking. We got to the back door which was a sliding glass door, that you could see in the kitchen and out through to the living room. My brother started knocking, after what seemed to be about 5 minutes, we both decided to leave. Shawn suggested that I try to knock so I did a little bit harder than him thinking she was upstairs, about that time we saw a figure in the living room. It was a dark figure so we thought our aunt was coming to the door. Then it stopped in the living room and developed a white mist around it. We looked at each other and were wondering what it was since we had never seen anything like that before. We looked back in the living room and there it was, an old woman sitting in a rocking chair with an early 1900's blue dress on.

We knew it wasn't our aunt since we both could see right through her. She smiled at us and vanished. My brother and I both took off like a bolt of lightning, running all the way back to our grandmothers house. When we got there we both got out in a tired and huffy breath "did you see that?" We never went back there again.
Turns out it was my aunt's grandmother who had died in the house and my brother and I were her great great great neice and nephew. I guess she was letting us know she was happy to see us.

My next experience and sorry about this taking forever is, about 8 years ago, I was dating a real nice guy, we grew up together all of our life. We both had a crush on each other but never said anything about it until my 21st birthday when he asked me out. He had epilepsy really bad, he couldn't work or drive, but that didn't bother me any, since we hand known each other for years, I didn't care if I was the one who took care of him. But he was old fashioned and didn't like that.

September 4th 1994 was like any other day, I got up for work exhausted from that evening, since my boyfriend had another seizure. We said our I love you's and I went to work. We were living with his parents and his 2 brothers and sisters still lived at home also so I went on down the road knowing he would be ok when I got home. After a few minutes I got this urge to go back home, not thinking anything about it I shrugged it off and went to work. An hour had passed and I heard on one of the fire fighter's pager's of a call at my boyfriends house. Thinking he had another seizure, my boss let me go. As soon as I pulled up to the house my brother "Shawn" stopped me. He wouldn't let me go, he told me my boyfriend had shot himself and he was gone. Next thing I know I woke up thinking it was all a dream, my brother said I passed out.

For the next few days it was a blur, it seemed like a bad dream but wasn't. His family and I were making plans to have a cookout for Labor Day to try to get our minds off things. As we were getting the preparations ready I went down to the shop to get the radio ready. Before I go on, let me explain the shop, it was an old barn that we used for our get togethers, we called it the shop because my boyfriends father would do his wood working in there. It had 2 windows which were always closed because it was cool in there year round. We had posters on the wall to decorate it. Anyway, I was there turning the radio on and out of nowhere a cold breeze came and started to move the posters, I looked at the windows but they were shut, the wind blew for about 30 seconds until his sister walked in and it stopped like nothing happened. I knew it was him. I found peace after that knowing he was looking out for me. I still love him and miss him but I know he will always be near me whenever I need him and I know that for a fact.
